LinkedIn Mastery Review

Some screens, statistics and tactics have aged, but the core lesson remains important: if you run a real business, LinkedIn is one of the places where your experience and professional credibility should be working for you.

Should you buy it in 2026?

Yes, for the right person. I think LinkedIn is close to essential for a serious business owner, consultant, trainer or anyone selling professional expertise. The course is dated in places, but the underlying principles remain sound.

Price: £197

What the training covers

  • Setting up and optimising a personal LinkedIn profile
  • Building a professional network and connecting with relevant people
  • Creating and planning content
  • Using AI to help generate LinkedIn content ideas
  • Company pages, groups and events
  • Organic networking and engagement
  • LinkedIn advertising, including the warning that it can be expensive
  • Consistency and building results over time

What it gets right

Your profile is part of your business credibility

For someone selling expertise, a thin or neglected LinkedIn profile creates an unnecessary gap in their online presence. The course is right to start with the foundations rather than treating LinkedIn as simply another place to post.

Networking still matters

The emphasis on relevant professional connections is useful. LinkedIn works differently from entertainment-led social platforms: the quality and relevance of the network can matter more than chasing raw follower numbers.

Useful content builds authority

The course encourages regular content rather than constant promotion. That remains a strong principle, particularly for people whose expertise has been built over a long career.

Where it has dated

  • Some platform statistics referenced in the training are from 2024.
  • LinkedIn's interface, Premium features and advertising screens can change.
  • The AI demonstration is useful as an introduction, but AI-assisted content creation has moved considerably further by 2026.
  • Exact networking tactics involving events, connection behaviour or platform limits should be checked against current LinkedIn functionality and rules.
Colin's Perspective

I should be using LinkedIn far more than I do

I have had a LinkedIn presence for many years and created a new profile since retiring. The uncomfortable conclusion from reviewing this training is that I do not currently use it often enough.

That is something I intend to address. LinkedIn gives me another place to demonstrate what I am learning and building.

Experience becomes an advantage

For people over 50, LinkedIn has an obvious attraction. You may have 30 or 40 years of professional experience, specialist knowledge, contacts and lessons learned. LinkedIn provides a natural place to turn some of that experience into visible credibility.

I should also publish more articles there

I already create substantial articles and newsletter material. I should be adapting more of that material for LinkedIn rather than allowing it to live in only one place.

I would not replace my own websites with LinkedIn. My WordPress sites remain the primary home for content I want to own and control. But carefully repurposed LinkedIn articles can add another route for discovery, search visibility and professional authority.

AI update for 2026

The course demonstrates AI as a source of LinkedIn post ideas. Today I would take that further. AI can help analyse positioning, develop profile wording, create a content calendar, turn a long article into several LinkedIn posts, adapt a newsletter into an article, generate alternative hooks and help maintain a consistent publishing rhythm.

The important word is help. Generic AI content pumped out at volume is unlikely to build the authority the course is trying to create. Your experience, examples and opinions still need to be present.

Who it suits

  • Business owners who have largely ignored LinkedIn
  • Consultants, trainers, coaches and service providers
  • People over 50 who can turn career experience into authority
  • Beginners who want a structured introduction

Who should skip it

  • Experienced LinkedIn marketers who already publish and network consistently
  • Anyone buying solely for current interface walkthroughs or cutting-edge AI tactics
  • Businesses whose customers have little meaningful presence on LinkedIn
Colin's Verdict
★★★★☆

Dated in places, but the fundamentals are important. I would not buy this because every screenshot is current. I would buy it if I needed a structured push to take LinkedIn seriously as part of a real business.

Reviewing it has also exposed a gap in my own marketing: I have a profile and years of professional experience, but I am not currently making enough use of either on LinkedIn.
